The 15th edition of Theater der Dinge! Since the year 2000, this international festival has presented new artistic developments and expanded the horizons of contemporary puppet and object theater beyond the boundaries of the genre. The festival takes its name from the director, scenographer and puppet theater professor Konstanza Kavrakova-Lorenz and refers to the individualism of things and their ability to act, to tell stories and to enter into relationships with us. Since the first editions realized by Silvia Brendenal, the focus has been placed works that give objects a stage and put their stories front and center.

The 2026 anniversary edition also draws upon this: it brings together productions that question our present era with puppets and objects, tableaus, miniatures, simulations and games.

In “Dreamland / Territory of Dreams”, Théâtre Rude Ingénierie from Québec brings the amusement park Coney Island to life in Theater Strahl as a large-scale kinetic/musical object installation. In Podewil, the theater series Transport, which has been celebrated throughout Europe, leads us into the realm of logistics, migration and transit. In addition, productions from Belgium, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Czechia and Germany will perform at Schaubude Berlin and TATWERK for seven days, presenting the concentrated vitality of this unique form of theater.

Accessibility information for individual events can be found with the respective productions.
Detailed information on the accessibility in structural terms of Schaubude Berlin can be found here. Detailed accessibility information for Podewil can be found here, for Theater Strahl here, and for TATWERK here.

We offer Early Boarding for all performances at Schaubude Berlin (except “SOHLE EINS-ACHTZIG”). Early Boarding is available for audience members with visible and non-visible disabilities. It allows visitors to enter the auditorium five to ten minutes before general admission, become familiar with the space, and choose a suitable seat.

Tickets are available in our online shop and at the box office. At all venues, the box office opens one hour before the performance starts. Our ticket office can be reached from Tuesday to Friday, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as well as one hour before the start of each performance. As our ticket provider’s website is only partially accessible, tickets and wheelchair spaces with a companion seat can also be reserved by phone at +49 30 4234314 or by email at ticket@schaubude.berlin.
