Puppetry
What does it mean to go away or to stay?
The daze caused by war, loss and uprooting calls for words, images and stories. Scheherazade, the protagonist of »One Thousand and One Nights«, postpones her death every evening until the next day by telling stories.
Here, too, a Scheherazade speaks, she tells and repeats in order to prevent herself from getting lost in the rapture of the deep. Full of poetry, the interwoven voices and stories in this solo performance tell of states between the here and there as the hallmarks of migration and exile.
Sayeh Sirvani studied puppetry in Tehran and Charleville-Mézières. In her work, she explores fabrics and their textures, costumes and the transformation of puppet and body. »L'Ivresse des profondeurs«/»The rapture of the deep« is her first performance to be shown in Germany.
