Harriharri is new in Finland. He is confident and ready and raring to go! He hopes that he will be warmly received by the cultural community and that he will make new friends. Things, however, end up working out differently and despite his persistent efforts, he continuously runs up against obstacles in his attempts to take part in Finnish society.

The artist Harold Hejazi translates Harriharri’s struggle against bureaucracy, systemic forces and social exclusion into a video game that he plays before the eyes of the audience in the form of a Let’s Play, commenting upon the game and accompanying it with live rap. Level after level, the player character must overcome more and more difficult challenges - and, what’s more, the decisions of the audience influence the course of the performance, making it into a one-of-a-kind experience.

Harold Hejazi works at the crossroads of the museal, performative and communicative practices and is especially interested in game techniques. Adventures of Harriharri is an adventure in three parts, whose third part Harold Hejazi will now present during Theater der Dinge. The first two parts can be viewed here: Episode I and Episode II.

A note about accessibility: You can find information about the physical accessibility of the performance venue here. The production will work with a large-format projection that will show the quick changes of perspective from a computer game. The audience is directly addressed, but can decide for themselves whether they want to interact.
