An interdisciplinary object and mask performance
“I get up at 4 am, take the train at 5:45 am and start sorting things at 6 am”. This is how the day of a mail carrier begins, the bringer of news that can change the lives of the recipients, for example, through a credit report, notice of termination or notice of debt collection. Why does money play such a big role in our lives? One thing is absolutely certain: It all got started with debt. While these thoughts shoot through the mind of the mail carrier, Der Markt (The Market) takes shape, Diogenes designs a half-finished utopia out of a barrel while Ayn Rand and Adam Smith argue about the unclear metaphor of the invisible hand via an exchange of letters… This project is a multimedia collage about guilt, debt and human nature using a mixture of puppetry, live music and video art.
