Nothing works today without microchips: no smartphones, no cars, no electrical grids, no stock markets, no internet – and no armies. With Silicon Dreams, OutOfTheBox dedicates itself to the microchip as a geopolitical phenomenon and a beacon of hope for the regions of high-tech settlements.

Within an interactive installation, the audience comes into contact with documentary material and, using their own software and hardware objects and scenarios, explores the historic past and digital future of East Germany.
