Nitriles are a group of chemical compounds. Nitriles are polar connections and can cause a multitude of reactions. Nitriles occur naturally in many plants and animals as well as in bacteria, fungi and in outer space. Important industrial products that involve nitriles include acrylic fibers, superglue and nitrile rubber, which is used for the production of medical gloves as an alternative to latex, which often causes allergic reactions.
