Object Drag is an ongoing research project which gives love and care to household object and liberates them from repression by human beings by giving them special clothing. Drag as a queer and political art form circumvents the expectations about the body. In its best form, drag can question the attitudes and types of behavior accepted by society through camp, humor, disguise and a certain dose of glitter and glamour. In Object Drag/Show, the alarm clock puts on diva makeup and proudly walks the catwalk in its own haute couture collection to say “No thank you!” to its alleged uses.
Robin Leveroos conducts research into worlds in which the miniscule, the inconspicuous and the overseen stand at the center. Under the name macromatter, the interdisciplinary artist creates performances for all ages. In addition, she also collaborates with a variety of theater groups as a set designer and performer. The collection for Object Drag/Show was created in the spring of 2022 within the scope of research grant provided by Fonds Darstellende Künste.
