"GRUSEL GRUSEL - The Alphabet of Monsters and Monstrosities" will be made available as a free video stream in cooperation with nachtkritik.de on nachtkritik.plus from 22 December 2021 at 16:00 until 2 January 2022 at 16:00.
Do you know the blind witch Haga Baba from Helsinki who hangs in her hair? Have you ever seen a doublet? Or heard of the Japanese Zetze and the Bolivian Tompas, who grow sharp teeth from rice grains? All over the world there are monsters and creatures that scare children - preferably together with others. In 26 short stop-motion videos, "GRUSEL GRUSEL" explores the world of horror from A to Z and takes us on a journey into the fantastic cosmos of things.
Die Neue Kompanie is a performance collective founded in 2016 at Kampnagel, living and working between Hamburg and Berlin. Its monster alphabet "GRUSEL GRUSEL" was awarded the Hamburg Children's Theatre Prize in 2021.
