Wax can be transformed in a matter of minutes: melting, dripping, flowing, burning, cooling, drying, modelled, covered over and torn. Using wax in all its different forms, Laia Ribera Caňénguez and Rafi Martin imprint their family biographies: migration stories and experiences of exile, family rituals and gender socialisation, as well as a self-portrayal of the diaspora. This is a contemporary reinvention of traditional camp-fires where stories and narratives are shared and passed on.
