“Warm Data” is a special metropolitan symphony, which leads through the busy streets of Toronto with black-and-white film material. Here, every individual image pulses to the rhythm of the dynamism of urban life – a special oasis that juxtaposes the sober exemplariness of the world as it is offered to us by quantitative data (“cold data”) with an independent aesthetic accessing of the urban system.

The artist and filmmaker Natalia Kozieł-Kalliomäki manually intervenes in the projection of the 16mm film with live animations in her expanded cinema performance: using two overhead projectors, paper silhouettes and a multitude of filters, superimpositions with color, textures and fascinating patterns are created, forming a dense visual narrative.
