Every day, between 20 and 50 million trucks are underway on the streets of the world. They supply us with goods and keep the economy running. At the same time, the industry increases the pollution of the environment and regularly violates the rights of the workers. Using the example of a truck driver under time pressure, Puppentheater Maribor explores this systemic conflict: driven by obstacles that pile up on the highway, a random encounter at night occurs as well as a catastrophe the next morning. “Transport: Cargo” asks about responsibility, justice and the ecological burdens of our consumption.

“Transport” is a six-part theater series that has been celebrated across Europe that concerns itself with the effects of mobility in a globalized world. All productions use individually created scenographies consisting of realistically designed spaces, buildings, streets and public infrastructure that are inhabited by 3D printed characters. An immersive experience for the audience is created with a performance style oriented around animated films and a 3D soundscape.
