You’ve already heard at least once about the famous experiment of the Austrian quantum physicist Erwin Schrödinger, the center of which concerns a cat in a box. This experiment only exists in our thoughts – even today! In his lecture performance about realities that we cannot see with our eyes, Ariel Doron uses all of the magic of puppet theater, theater stages and PowerPoint. Full of surprises and humor, the Berlin-based director and puppet theater performer takes his audience on a journey to existential questions: What is our relationship to animals? How do we experience time and space and do we see reality as it really is? Are we all dead? Or alive? Or both at the same time?

Ariel Doron encounters the hard political and social realities with play experiments which take place at the border between reality and fiction. In order to do so, he uses the tools of puppet theater in order to make the power relationships and dependencies able to be experienced. Finally, he is once again a guest at Theater der Dinge and opens this year’s edition of the festival with Mitzis Mensch as a festival co-production.

Following the performance, we invite our audience to join us in the lobby of Podewil to celebrate the opening of the festival with us.
