I’M DOING OK

University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart, Germany
In German spoken language
Puppet Theater with live music

“I’m doing OK. I’m healthy and I have money. The sun is shining and a few drops of rain fall from the sky every now and then. But something isn’t right. The world could lose its balance.”

The production by the second-year puppetry students at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart) was loosely based on Peter Licht’s “Die Geschichte meiner Einschätzung am Anfang des dritten Jahrtausends” (The Story of My Assessment at the Beginning of the Third Millennium) and created in collaboration with recorder students.

Performance
Josepha Flemming, Elio Jaeger, Zina Strunz (puppetry students in Prof.in Julika Mayer and Jule Hölzgen’s class), Sumin Yu, Anna Zimmermann (recorder students in Carolin Daub’s class)

BEGINNING GOAT END

Panne Fatale, Germany
With little spoken German language
Object Theater with live sound

A little point of light on the country road / wind in your hair and loud music on the radio / the crunching of the tires on warm asphalt / Johannes chews / an oily drop lands on the moss / Shakira passionately emphasizes the honesty of her hips.

At the end of the world, three performers ask themselves whether it is still worth putting on your hazard lights and why the goat looks so auspicious. After all, apocalypse is always a matter of perspective.

“ANFANG ZIEGE ENDE” (BEGINNING GOAT END) is a piece that lies somewhere between a nightmare, a road trip, a goat documentary, and the Revelation of Johannes. With object theater, live music, and homemade special effects, Panne Fatale takes the audience on a dark, absurd, and sensual journey.
