Blue is the color of uniforms. There are a whole lot of jokes about men in uniforms – we all know them. In “Blue”, they become the point of departure for a theatrical reflection upon police violence, power structures, fear and vulnerability: precisely performed, a surprisingly entertaining series of intense scenes unfold involving confessions, threats, silence and brittle tenderness.

Hop Signor presents them with its multiple award-winning production in the tradition of object theater. Its miniature world works like a funhouse mirror – ironic, exaggerated and painfully true at the same time. The Greek puppet theater duo will be part of Theater der Dinge for the first time this year and closes the festival with its unnerving and powerful portrait of a society and its control systems based on authority and hierarchy.
