Multimedia Performance
KMZ is a collective founded in 2021 that takes an artistic and activist approach to colonial traces, looted art, food and ecology. In their latest production “ZEA MAYS”, maize becomes the protagonist of stories – from the Mayan myth to colonization, from the genetic maize scandal to today’s use.
With live sound, microscopes, cameras and a popcorn machine, “ZEA MAYS” sheds light on global food chains and calls for ecological thinking: Eat local, act global!
