Topic of the fourth edition of "Pupptes for Future" on 17 May: Sustainable Touring

Our guest is Carolina Ortega, who will present the work of the sustainability lab as well as the touring practice of the puppet theatre play "Dimanche" by Cie Focus & Chaliwaté. Based on her recommendations and practical examples, we look forward to learning and sharing more ideas and experiences from the field of puppet theatre.

More and more artists and organisers of figure and object theatre are dealing with pressing ecological problems. There is a noticeable search for aesthetic forms to deal with the hardly tangible big issues such as climate change, global warming or species extinction on the theatre stage. It is also becoming apparent that in the coming years, sustainability standards will play a major role in productions, touring and events: Be it out of their own conviction and sense of responsibility or through new funding conditions.

How can puppeteers make their artistic work more sustainable? What is the task of the permanent houses? How can ecological issues be dealt with aesthetically and sensually on stage? And how can all this be realised?

With a changing thematic focus and short inputs from experts, "Puppets for Future" provides space for an exchange of experiences.
