We take a summer break, but we will not remain idle until the start of the new season at the beginning of September...

We are happy about this year's Schaubude residency un.thai.tled, whose artists are exploring the rigid forms of traditional Southeast Asian storytelling in experiments with shadows and Kinect technology until August 21. Their work processes can be followed here.

And there's also news from our #TakeHeart residency artists. Alpha Kartsaki and Haris Saslis made amazing discoveries about (gender-)identities and characteristics during their research in the plant kingdom. Did you know, that many fern species go through an asexual phase during their lifetime? And that some orchids can mimic female bee pheromones to attract male bees? More about the topic here.

Tatjana Reeh also dealt with fluid creatures and their metamorphoses in her research. She raises the question of whether something beautiful can emerge from fears and identity dissolution.

We are also looking forward to the remodeling of the box office, the arrival of our printed theater programs, and the theater evening "Our cow burns through" with the Pyromantiker on August 29.
